Bio:
Dana is the bullpen catcher for the Red Sox for the seventh straight season and his 13th season in the Red Sox organization. The former catcher was the Red Sox 17th pick (14th round) in the 1991 June draft, was signed by scout Bill Enos and played five seasons (1991-95) in the Red Sox system. The Brockton, MA native assumed his current role in 1997. He attended Cape Cod Community College (1987-89) and American International College in Springfield, MA (1989-91) majoring in business management/marketing. In his senior year he hit .473 (13 HR, 87 RBI) in 42 games. He was named the 1991 Division II Northeast Player of the Year, the 1991 Northeast-10 Player of the Year and was named to the Division II All-American Team. Dana played in the 1991 New England College All-Star Game in Fenway Park. He graduated from Whitman-Hanson H.S. (Whitman, MA) in 1987 where he played baseball, wrestling and football. Dana reached Triple A in the Red Sox system at Pawtucket in 1995. Overall he hit .195 in 356 minor league at-bats.
